The 5mp 90-degree camera is available as an add-on to your machine. The camera gives you a bird's eye view of your workspace right on your computer screen for quick and accurate placement of your design, so that you don’t have to measure (LightBurn upgrade required).

The calibration is a Lightburn preset. You will need to do the camera alignment. It's about a 5-minute process. See LightBurn Camera Setup.
There is a 30-day free trial available to anyone through LightBurnSoftware.com. Check with a sales representative for our current specials.

** CO2 lasers only mark bare metals when anodized or treated

*** WARNING: Because many plastics are dangerous to cut, it is important to know what kind you are planning to use. When in doubt, Google the name of the material + "MSDS" to find the Material Data Safety Sheet for that material.

If you are not sure what a material is, don’t cut it! Using a laser on material that is not laser safe can create fires and toxic gases, which can be harmful or even DEADLY if inhaled.

Unsafe Materials - Never Cut These Materials!

  • PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride), vinyl, or any other material containing chlorine or chloride.
  • Pleather / artificial leather
  • Resin-based Materials
  • Fiberglass
  • Graphite
  • Carbon Fiber or Coated Carbon Fiber
  • ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)
  • HDPE (milk bottle plastic)
  • PolyStyrene Foam
  • PolyPropylene Foam
  • Thick (> 1mm) Polycarbonate/Lexan
These are the thicknesses the MIRA’s can cut in one pass:
MIRA5 - 1/4” wood and acrylic
MIRA7 - 3/8” wood and acrylic
MIRA9 - 1/2” wood and acrylic
A CO2 laser cannot engrave metal, but you can use a marking spray to create designs on metal. After the marking spray is applied to the metal, the laser fuses the spray to the surface which creates a dark marking.

You can engrave on any coated metals, like anodized or with a color on top (e.g. coated tumblers).
