File Setup, Materials & Sizes, Tolerances & Standards, Edge Quality, Orders, Production Time
We require all design files to be set in either inches (in) or millimeters (mm). Our laser cutters cannot process files that are saved in other units of measurement.
Any bridging elements in your design should be at least 1 mm (3/64 in) wide.
Each individual file must be no larger than 10 MB.
We recommend placing only non-identical parts together in one file, such as custom ornaments with different names, or a range of distinct components. If you do this, please leave at least 3mm (1/8 in) of space between each part.
If you want to order multiple copies of the same part, upload that part's design once and specify the desired quantity at checkout. We also offer volume discounts on orders of identical parts.
Our software automatically identifies these points and can help simplify them for smoother cutting.
Please refer to our design guidelines for a detailed, step-by-step process on how to prepare your files. At this time, we do not offer full design services.
We currently offer 304 stainless steel, A36 mild steel (low-carbon),Q235 galvanized steel, 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, and 5082 Aluminum Alloy (Al-Mg). See Sheet Metal Details and Specifications.
For online quotes, each dimension of your project can be up to 32 inches. If your design exceeds 32 inches, a custom shipping quote will be required. We can accommodate sheet sizes up to 5 feet by 10 feet.
The smallest piece we can cut measures 0.25 inches by 0.375 inches. The smallest hole diameter we can cut is 1.5 millimeters (1/16 inch).
Our general tolerance for completed parts is ±0.1 mm.
We do not ship leftover scraps or dropouts once we have cut your parts.
All metals may exhibit a slight bend, but our parts are generally considered flat for most applications.
Our materials have a thickness tolerance of ±0.2 mm.
We cut parts with a tolerance of ±0.15 mm.
We cannot guarantee any level of food safety for our metal parts.
You may notice minor tapering based on the thickness of the material, but it is usually minimal.
No. Our machinery automatically compensates for kerf, and adding your own adjustments may cause parts to be larger than intended.
All parts will go through a deburred process if you request it.
We offer a deburring process upon request, which helps smooth out the edges of your parts. Although we make every effort to minimize sharp edges, some parts may still retain areas that feel slightly sharp.
Yes. If you would like chamfered or machined edges, please include these specifications with your order.
Yes, deburring is available for an additional fee.
We do not currently offer tumbling services.
Laser cutting is highly accurate and produces very little dross. If you request deburring, we will make every effort to ensure edges are smooth; however, some parts may still have minor sharp spots.
We do not offer beveling or three-dimensional cutting at this time.
