Why an RF Metal Tube
Glass tubes cost less up front. RF tubes pulse faster, hold a finer beam for detail work and last about twice as long. When the gas runs out, you refill the tube instead of replacing it.

MIRA 9X questions, answered
What can the MIRA 9X cut and engrave?
Wood, acrylic, leather, paper and cardboard, rubber and fabric, plus surface engraving on glass and stone. The CO₂ laser does not cut metal. Add the optional 50W fiber source to engrave metal.
What's the difference between an RF tube and a glass tube?
An RF metal tube pulses faster and produces a thinner beam, so engraving is sharper and fine text holds down to 2.5 pt. It is rated for about 20,000 hours, roughly twice a typical DC glass tube, and when the gas runs out it can be refilled instead of replaced.
How does print to cut work?
Add registration marks to your design and print it. Load the sheet on the bed. The two lid cameras locate the marks, the CCD camera on the laser head pinpoints each one, and the laser cuts on the line.
Does the MIRA 9X work with LightBurn?
Yes. The MIRA 9X is LightBurn compatible (LightBurn is licensed separately). It also runs EZMaker for VisionFlow print to cut and batch fill, and RDWorks.
Is it safe to use indoors?
The MIRA 9X is a Class 1 fully enclosed laser. The built-in exhaust fan should vent outside or into a suitable fume extractor. Proper ventilation and safe material handling are still required.
What warranty comes with the MIRA 9X?
Two years, US based, covering the machine, the electronics and major components including the laser tube.
How is it delivered, and how much space does it need?
Shipping is $980. The MIRA 9X weighs 185.2 lb and measures 45.7 × 27.2 × 16.5 in, so plan for a sturdy stand or table. It runs on 110V or 220V and draws up to 1,460W.
Can it engrave tumblers?
Yes. Add the optional QuadTurn rotary, made for the MIRA 6X and MIRA 9X.
