A series of tiny fans are now used to force feed makeup air into the laser cabinet, which inturn improves how quickly smoke is evacuated from the system. The standard NOVA comes fitted with a glass DC laser tube, stepper motors, and can achieve max speeds of up to 1200mm/sec.
The Super NOVA comes with two laser sources (metal RF and glass DC), hybrid stepper motors, and can achieve max speeds of up to 2000mm/sec.
Metal RF laser tubes can produce greater detail and are able to be pulsed much faster than glass DC laser tubes. Therefore, they are better suited for engraving at high speeds and last 3-5x longer that a glass DC laser tube.
On the other hand, glass DC laser tubes are superior for cutting applications and are far more affordable to replace, especially when you get into the higher wattages.
By combining the two into one machine, you get the best of both worlds!
Yes, you can choose whether to use the metal RF or glass DC tube in the software. Either laser tube can be set to engrave or cut.
The Aeon Super NOVA is available in 3 different sizes:
NOVA10S = 700mm x 1000mm (approx. 28" x 40")
NOVA14S = 900mm x 1400mm (approx. 36" x 55")
NOVA16S = 1000mm x 1600mm (approx. 40" x 63")
The RF metal laser tube for engraving, is offered in 30W and 60W configurations of the Aeon Super NOVA. The DC glass laser tube for cutting is offered in the range of 90W-180W.
Either one is available depending on what country you are in. In the United States, all Aeon Super NOVAs will come wired for 120 volts, which is the voltage produced by a standard outlet.
Active Airflow is another Aeon innovation used to improve the performance of the exhaust system by force feeding makeup air into the cabinet via a series of tiny fans. The faster air enters and exits the cabinet, the cleaner your results and the less cleaning there is to do.
Seamless Source Switching is a proprietary technology Aeon developed to switch between the RF metal tube and the DC glass tube. It is all programmed via the software and happens in an instant.
The Super Clean Pack Design takes the standard clean pack design from previous generations one step further. Not only are the rails and bearings protected along the X and Y axis, but a new curtain system is used to seal off the rest of the cabinet from the interior work space.

The new integrated auto focus uses the actual nozzle from the laser head to sense the material surface versus a separate probe. The new design is less prone to snagging on materials and failing due to a build up of debris.
What is the difference between the Ruida controller on the Aeon Super NOVA versus the previous NOVA?
The new Ruida controller has direct access to more popular functions that were previously buried in the Z/U menu. It will also display both the mA reading of your laser tube and the water temperature reading of the onboard 5200 chiller.
The Lightburn Camera captures a still Birdseye image of any item you place inside your laser and then allows you to visually overlay your design on top of it. This helps you to quickly and accurately position artwork, which eliminates tedious guess work and reduces failed engraving attempts.
Yes, increasing the air flow by means of compressed air can assist with cutting applications. The standard air pump is only designed to prevent the focal lens from getting dirty and ensure the laser beam has a clear path to the material, without reflecting off of any smoke. For the Aeon Super NOVA, we recommend the 26 gallon Kobalt Quiet Tech from Lowes.
Yes, a full front to rear pass through is standard on the Aeon Super NOVA.
Yes, a standard doorway typically measures anywhere between 30" - 36". The bottom portion of the Aeon Super NOVA can be easily removed, leaving the top portion at just under 30" tall, once turned on its side.
